Welcome to Feel good social podcast Minisodes!

These are QUICK + ACTIONABLE tip-focused episodes to help you use social media in the best way. 🤗

Today we are chatting about one of my favorite topics: What the heck you should post to social media!

I know how time-consuming and brain-draining content creation can be, especially when it comes to social. If you wake up everyday and groan, thinking: Ah man, I’ve got to create yet another social media post… What the heck should I post about today?

You’re not alone, my friend.

If you’ve been listening to the Feel Good Social Podcast for any amount of time, you probably realize that I totally agree with you: Social media can be such a drag.

I mean, I truly believe that the key to success on social media is consistency:

Showing up again and again, every week, with a cohesive vibe + purposeful messaging for your brand…

But after a few months, weeks, days - it’s super easy to find yourself in a content creation rut, right?

I don’t want that to happen to you - and it doesn’t need to happen to you, my friend.

So for today’s quick and actionable minisode, I’m sharing my favorite 3 types of content you can create, over and over, so you never have to find yourself in a “what the heck should I post today” rut again!

Are you ready? Let’s dive in!

Disclaimer: It’s okay to post about the same things again and again.

Before we begin, I just want to remind you of a few things:

When it comes to creating content for your brand, it’s okay to share similar content again and again... and again. Especially on social media.

Firstly, let’s just consider the algorithm for a sec. Every time you post on social media, the platform will only push your post out to about 10% of your followers on a good day - until you start getting engagement on that post, which tells the algorithm it’s valuable content and that it should be boosted it even more.

But that mean that it’s likely most of your followers are not seeing most of your posts.

Then just think about the way people consume content on the platform: We’re all just scrolling along, being slapped in the face with post after post everyday. So even if your post just so happens to pop up on someone’s feed, there’s a good chance they won’t even pay attention to it anyway.

And then after that, studies have shown that we need to see or hear a new concept 7-10 times before the idea really sinks in and we can actually remember it and take action on it. So your followers actually need to see multiple posts about the same topic, if you want to really drive a message home.

I’m not saying this to depress you, my friend.

I’m telling you this so you can give yourself permission to post about similar topics over and over. It’s actually more strategic for your marketing and less confusing for your audience that way.

3 Types of Content

So now that we’ve established that, I’ll go ahead and share my favorite 3 types of content to post again and again. They are:

  • Customer features, stories + testimonials

  • Educational or inspirational content such as tips, facts, quotes, blogs, etc.

  • Promotional content such as product features, sales, giveaways, and all that jazz.

And I’ll be super transparent right now - the Brand Vibe Bundles that we just released include a lot of Canva templates for each of these types of content!

I mean, I was the one who created the 80+ social media templates in each of our Brand Vibe Bundles, and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to show up cohesively and strategically - so of course, I created the templates with these topic pillars in mind.

Our new bundles are seriously so beautiful, so strategic and will make your life oh-so-much easier when it comes to marketing your brand on social - so if you’re loving everything I’m sharing in this episode, I’d love for you to check them out here: feelgoodsocial.com/brandvibebundles

Okay, now I’d like to dive a little deeper into each of these content topics and share a few of my favorite tips for each:

Customer Features + Stories + Testimonials

Let’s first talk about Customer features, stories and testimonials

There are so many different visuals you can share and captions you can write about your customers - and honestly, I think you could create a post for this pillar every single week.

customer review + testimonials

Firstly, you could share a traditional customer testimonial or review. You know… the typical quote that goes something like:

“Matilda was wonderful to work with… yada yada yada”

While these types of testimonials all do kind of sound the same - let’s be honest - they’ll still provide you with social proof - and may give your followers a little bit of fomo (aka compel them to buy from you as well.)

Transformation Stories

You could also share your customer’s transformation story, such as:

“When Betty first started her business, she knew she needed to market herself on social media, but she thought it was super overwhelming, confusing and time-consuming. Then she hired me. Together, we did X Y and Z - and now Betty is seeing awesome results and actually enjoys using social media to market her business.”

That’s the general idea for my favorite two ways to feature customers, but if you’d like more, our Brand Vibe Bundles actually include 30 in-depth social post prompts that dive deeper into the what + how of your posts.

Each bundle also includes 3 different customer feature graphic templates for Instagram feed posts, stories and story highlights - so definitely check them out!

Educational or Inspirational Content

Now, let’s move onto the second type of content you can share again and again: Educational or Inspirational Posts.

In our new Brand Vibe Bundles, this is the category I’ve created the most graphic templates for - because there are so many different types of content you could share within this pillar AND because I think this is what most of us should be sharing the most of.

Educational or inspirational content could include:

  • Helpful Tips

  • Interesting Facts

  • Inspirational or entertaining quotes

  • Blog post teasers

  • Heck, it could even include a hilarious meme

And I think you should be posting something within this pillar at least 1 a week (if not more).

Just remember to always consider your ideal customer when you’re creating this type of content:

  • What are they interested in?

  • What would be helpful for them?

  • What journey do I want to take them on and how can I help them get started?

If you’re having trouble thinking of ideas, check out our Brand Vibe Bundles - because like I said, our templates and post prompts will give you a great place to start.

Promotional Posts

Okay now finally let’s move onto the third type of content you can post over and over: Promotional Content!

My friend, a lot of people struggle with selling, and a lot of people hate creating sales-y content. I’ve been there, I get it, but I’m also going to tell you right now: We gots to get ya over it. 😘

I know how much time + energy you’re putting into showing up on social media for your business - and if you want to make all that effort worth it, you simply have to show up and sell.

There’s nothing wrong with selling loud, proud and often. In fact, I’m going to encourage you to do just that, at least once, every freaking week.

So, what could these promotional posts look like?

Well they could be an overview of your offers, or a deep dive into a specific product or service. It could be promoting a sale, launch or even a giveaway. Or you could be asking people to sign up for your email list freebie.
Whatever it is, you need to be asking your followers to take some sort of action that will support your business and move your bottom line every week.

And as is the trend for today’s minisode, our Brand Vibe Bundles do include lots of different Canva templates for promotional posts (I think there’s at least 8 different templates for feed posts, stories and highlights in each bundle) plus I share several promotional prompts to help you create sales posts without being too sales-y.

Sounds pretty nice, right?
